My wife's uncle was killed in Germany during WWII. This flag was mailed back to his mother during the war.

If not mistaken that is a Dienst flag and I think were flown over administration buildings or offices. The stamping on it indicates it is a Kriegsmarine Dienst flag the "M" under the eagle denotes it is a KM item

is this a top piece of a SA standard? if it was real how much would it be worth? i couldn't find any markings. i bought it at a flea market for $100

yes its an early type pole top looks ok and orig to me
