The Gun Hitler used to kill himself-what happened to it?
Just curious, has anyone ever heard/read what happened to the gun Hitler used to kill himself? Was it left in the bunker by Bormann, Linge, Gunsche, etc. after his suicide? Did one of them pick it up and take possession of it? If so, has it ever surfaced in any private collection/museum, etc.? If anyone did take it out of the bunker, I imagine it would have been a fairly valuable historical artifact. If anyone has any info. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Now thats the ring of truth!!!! good call!!!!Mark in Cleveland, Tn. wrote:give it time, and i am sure one of these ''hot shot'' dealers that live at the MAX, JAG, and SOS shows will '''''out of the woodwork'' find it...
like the dealer with all the ''named''' high daggers!!!!
Make me want to throw up!!!
If someone did really have it who would believe them anyway? Like all those u.s. officer engraved PPs now thats history! they surface now and then. Thats where the hobby is headed to real bringbacks. Many of the german named stuff is over priced I remember when nobody cared.
Hitler's gun huh

One could safely assume that the Russian's got it, I hope they guard it better than they guarded his Gold party badge, which was (supposedly) stolen a few years back from a Russian exhibit. I have never seen images of that gun come to think of it?

It would be the same place as the knives used to kill ceasar and shakespears quill, at the bottom of a dump somewhere - not knowing what it was someone would have used the hell out of it then tossed it.
Funny how something that is historically priceless can be completely worthless without the right proof of its use.

Tolsdorf the Mad's Luger is owned by a Philadelphia policeman. I do not think he even has an idea of its provenance.

My dad went to a WW2 collector's private exhibit in Lofoten, Norway, and the guy claimed to have Göring's gold plated pistols there. Could there be any truth to this?
Re: The Gun Hitler used to kill himself-what happened to it?
i dont believe so...maybe all that gun"s that Hitler or Göring had are locked in Russia ...or lost after so many years

In this well know Life photo of the couch where Hitler and Eva committed suicide, isn't that a pistol on the couch, bearing mind that the light is from a camera flash, as the room was in darkness, maybe not his but didn't Eva also have one and would match the position on the couch she was supposed to be sitting when she ended it all. just a thought

Wasn't there a revolver floating around a few years ago that purported to belong to AH?

One (there are many more) of Hitler's guns (or if you were in the Army they would want you to refer to it as a weapon:-) either way, here is the link.
