Daggers- Real or fake?

#1

Post by Jangus » 03 Apr 2014, 04:53

Hi,

I recently bought what what I believed to be was four genuine daggers, although after having gotten them checked out it would appear they are fake. Before I contact the seller, however, I was wondering if I could get another opinion, as although I'm now 98% sure they're fake, I'd love to be wrong.

In total I bought four daggers, and have attached photos of all of them. If you'd like anymore photos feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Jamie

Hello there,

Very poorly artificially ages reproductions. Hopefully you paid via paypal in case the seller does not want to issue a refund and please remember to send them back with tracking so you can prove they were delivered if need be. Good luck!

Hi William,

Yea, I paid through PayPal, although they're putting up a fight, but I'm working on it. Ok, thanks for the tip about tracking!

Thanks,

Jamie

I have heard of horror stories of where paypal won't back something "Nazi" related so another thing that may be helpful is if you describe what you purchased as supposed antique military bayonets.

Oh wow, I wouldn't have thought PayPal would have done stuff like that, I guess they do though... I'll let you know how I go.

paypal is an eBay company, so its a no go on the stuff they deem inappropriate (and that includes items relating to the Wehrmacht)

Jamie,
I do hope you get your money back....but the fact you bought THESE VERY POOR QUALITY fake daggers in the first place shows you have not taken enough time to research or learn "much" about original German daggers..... these shouldn't have fooled anyone!.... they are nothing like the quality or detail of the originals!....and the poor attempt to age them only makes them more obviously BAD.....

Please take some time to look at original items (forums, dealer sites, shows, referance books)....pay attention to the details.........use the forums BEFORE buying "out of your field of knowledge"....(not after)....as these you should have recognized IMMEDIATELY as being JUNK!.... they are "awful"! 8O

That said....we all had to learn and we've all owned our share of "mistakes".... we'll be glad to advise, etc. but it's you're responsibility to "learn" what's necessary about this stuff....too.
