Looking to see if anyone can give me info on this.
Not looking to sell but curious about value.

Re: Looking for info on this.
Appears to be a very "art-deco" (stylized) version of an M-29 NSDAP eagle.... either a desk stand or plaque.... better quality than most.... unique horizontal wing feathers, etc., very attractive and unique in this pattern (to me, anyway)...
The normal versions are fairly common.... (normal wing patterns, etc.)

Thanks for the reply!
So in your opinion is not authentic WWII?

Re: Looking for info on this.
Hard to be sure without seeing it "in hand", but it looks original "on the face of it".... copies are usually of much poorer quality and cast in "whitemetal" .... plus being "unique", if copied.... we'd be seeing more of this style eagle (straight feathers).nitram22 wrote:Thanks for the reply!

Usually items like this have maker or foundry markings.....
Nice eagle IMO.... (from what I can see).

Re: Looking for info on this.
There would be markings if it was original?
How would one tell if it is original.
As you said, from other pics the wings are all diiferent.
Still uncertain if it's real or not.

Re: Looking for info on this.
If it is attached to the wood with screws or bolts .... remove them and there may be foundry / maker marks on the back of the eagle. If it has post pictures of the back and someone may be able to help you further.
Re: Looking for info on this.
Her are some pics of the back.
Don't see any makings??
Thanks.

Re: Looking for info on this.
I am searching for this adler. Here is a poster of such stylized one, NOT the same, but similiar. Will keep searching
I think the posted adler is genuine TR, as several have written, great details and sharp edges, most all repros/fantasy ones are poorly made. germans had hundreds of different adler designs. And you are correct, if a repro.etc. more would have shown up in marketplace.

Re: Looking for info on this.
Yours would be one of these types.Desk Eagle. the pic I posted is of a *faked one, but you get the idea as of to use. Yours has leg pegs,so it will sit square and straight to the desktop, Missing the extension arm support.

Re: Looking for info on this.
Mark is showing the "typical" M-29 NSDAP Eagle "stand" (Copy).... yours was originally made to stand the same way (I thought everyone knew the wooden box was just for display).... I don't see any foundry marks but I'd still say it's "probably" real.... differant. Value probably between $150./250. retail.... unless it turns out to be a reproduction after all....
One of the reasons these type items are "under appreciated" is because of the ease in making professional copies.... (rings, too!) that have flooded the market....
What is the provenance of the eagle?.... sometimes the source can be a big clue.... where did you get it? Heirloom?, yard sale?, or Eastern European Flea market?... Sometimes you can never be 100% sure..!
