WW1 Helmet?
WW1 Helmet?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Re: WW1 Helmet?
Sorry to have to tell you it's not a military helmet, certianly not German... it's a 1890s vintage MASONIC helmet... they wore sham "Roman costumes" for ceremonies... often found in theater use as props... no interest or value to a military collector but would be of interest to Masonic collectors...

Re: WW1 Helmet?
These were often used "theatrically" afterwards, but they "are/were" 1880s/1910ish vintage American MASONIC helmets... used for Ceremonially purposes (Sham Roman Legionaries)... used to be "common" and of little interest, but there are "Masonic collectors" who should have interest and appreciation for them now (E-Bay properly listed). I have a "turn-of-the-century" Masonic Sales Catalog that lists this exact helmet (notice some parts look like US Spike helmet parts- spike base/spike)...
