Photos attached, any help is appreciated.
There is a marking on the back of the blade that looks like it says "euf horster Solingen", if that will help.

Re: Need help identifying WW2 Nazi dagger
Sorry for the late reply, ive been without internet for a while.
Thank you very much for the quick response and identification!
What sort of location would I need to bring this in order to get it properly authenticated (and is this necessary at all?)?
I plan on giving it as a gift to my father and wanted to figure out a way to make it look nice and whatnot, so any advice on that front would be greatly appreciated as well.

Re: Need help identifying WW2 Nazi dagger
Scamrail,
Your dagger appears original, just better pictures are needed (clear, close ups- esp. of handle/guards/overall blade & trademark) to be 100% sure... but from what I can see it's a good one....
The only thing you (or you father after he recieves it) should do is give the blade a good oiling....then wipe it clean... DON'T clean the rest, best left untouched than to improperly clean it... never "steel wool" or "buff" anything!
You can find an original "hanger" from various dealers (and E-bay occassionally) which would be a proper addition and worth the investment ($100-150.00 range) IMO. Be sure they're for a Luftwaffe 2nd model.
