WW1 German Sword

Can anyone offer more information on this sword? I know its a WW1 German Sword/ WKC marking on scabbord. Why does it have a silver scabbard? Most I have seen have the black scabbard. Thanks!

Looks like an Austro Hungarian , there is a similar one here http://austrohungarianlandforcesdiscuss ... l6dcj_ovcs
Any idea of it's value ? I am looking at a m1850 one that is for sale.
