Use of Snowshoes in Combat?
I know this is an odd question, but is anyone aware of any uses of snowshoes in combat by Chinese forces at any point between 1922 and 1949? I'm particularly interested in possible accounts from battles in Suiyuan, Chahar, Ningxia, Gansu, Qinghai, or Xinjiang, but any examples are appreciated. I know that several battles were fought in conditions where snowshoes probably would have been useful, but I haven't seen anything actually mentioning their use.
Re: Use of Snowshoes in Combat?
As I know, the chinese soldiers had often homemade very broad shoes. Ie they, in lack of shoes, made shoes of rags etc. With time surely learning how to do it so it was working quite nicely. russian peasants used such shoes too.
Im thinking, such shoes, being quite wider than normal shoes, was almost as snow shoes in some situations.
