1938 Raid on the Alxa League

I know that in 1938, Nationalist troops under the direction of Ma Hongkui raided the capital of the Inner Mongolian Alxa (a.k.a. Alashan) League to seize the league's prince on the suspicion that he was planning on collaborating with the Japanese. (The infamous Gen. Doihara visited the prince, which was reportedly the proximate cause of the raid.)

As far as I can tell, all readily available English language sources on the subject eventually connect back one way or another to a 1948 dispatch by the American reporter A. Doak Barnett (copy available here: http://www.icwa.org/articles/ADB-19.pdf ). Barnett does not specify when in 1938 the raid took place, however.

The English-language Wikipedia entry for the Alxa prince (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darijaya) states that the raid took place in March 1938, but it doesn't give a citation for that specific fact. There's a citation for the following sentence, but the citation is to a page on the Alxa League's official website that is no longer available.

My question then is: what date did the raid occur? The specific date would be most helpful, but even just confirmation that March 1938 is correct would be appreciated.

The chinese news-platform www.huaxia.com broadcasts an article of the "Inner Mongolian Daily" (Neimenggu ribao 内蒙古日报), which is dating the raid on 24th february 1938.

Source: http://www.huaxia.com/zhwh/whrw/2011/11/2655777_2.html

Translation: On 24th february 1938 Ma Hongkui 马鸿逵 fulfilled the order of the national government und let Ma Tengjiao 马腾蛟 with troop power of the 3. regiment of the 1. brigade beleaguer the Dingyuan-fortress (Dingyuan yingchen 定远营城) [should be the alashan league's administrative seat] and disarm the prince's soldiers completely. With the mediation of Ma Hongbin's 马鸿宾 and Ma Hongkui's 马鸿逵 mother as well as via the help of Liu Baishi (?Liu Boshi?) 刘柏石, who was the leader of a mongol-tibetan inspection comitee in Ningxia Province, Ma Hongbin and the nobleman Dalizhaya (=Dariyaja) 达理 札雅 [see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darijaya] reached an agreement, that his [Dariyaja's] whole family would not be harmed and be totally secure. Dariyaja was escorted to and hold in custody/house arrest in Yinchuan 银川, Lanzhou 兰州, for as long as eight years.

Wow, thank you very much! This is actually even more helpful than I could have anticipated since it includes information about the units involved too.
