Confusion: Names of Ships

#1

Post by Jerry Asher » 20 Jan 2015, 07:46

I have two citations in English for a naval ship called the Baobi active in the 1920's. The first relates to Sun Yixian using the ship to sail from Guangzhou to Wuzhou in October 1922; the second when the ship approached Huangpu a day before the Zhongshan Incident in March 1926. Is it possible that Baobi is a corruption in translation or transliteration into English of the Zhaohe? Many thanks in advance.

These information are correct. Baobi - 宝璧(寳璧) was a small warship of the Canton Navy, which did participated in these two incidents. Sorry but I don't know more about it.

Thank you YC. It's just good to clear up the doubt that had arisen.
