Re: Foreign Military Forces in China
Does anyone have a simple list of foreign forces in the Beijing-Tianjin area in July 1937.
At Beijing were there British, French, American, Itallian, Japanese detachments to secure diplomatic personnel and property, and were these detachments inside or outside the City wallls? Does anyone have reactions to the Japanese occupying the city in August 1937?
At Tianjin there are British, French, American, Italian and Japanese detachments. Were there others?
At Chingwaotao/Qinhuangdao there are American marines? Were there also other foreign troops? Japanese?
Were any foreign troops at Taku/Daku? British? naval ships of any country?
Did any foreign troops maintain detachments along the railroad routes: Beijing--Tianjin: Beijing --Qinhuangdao-Shanhaiquan--Japanese at Shanhaiquan perhaps? Beijing--Jinan
Many thanks in advance.

As the caption says, this is a White Russian soldier in Chinese army(the "Chili-Shantung Ailled Army") during the defending of Peking against NRA in Summer 1928. So I suggest this photo being moved out of "Foreign Military Forces in China" thread.
A very nice photo anyway, I especially love the small(Maybe 3.7cm Liao Type 14, or maybe Japanese infantry gun) trench gun. Thanks a lot!

...yes, I was not sure where to post it. Maybe it fits better in the "war in pictures thread".

This photograph made for the 10th anniversary of the Yunnan independance, was given by general Lou King Sie to the French resident in Bac Leu, the captain Joret
The general wears the neck badge of the "Striped Tiger" order , the "Royal order of Cambodia"and probably the "Double Dragon" and many more; the man with top hat has the "Brillant Jade" order and others, the French captain the "Legion d'honneur" & others
