Post-WWI Foreign Policies *Without* a Bolshevik Revolution in Russia

What do you think that various Great Powers' post-World War I foreign policies would have looked like if the Bolshevik Revolution would have never occurred in Russia (such as if both Lenin and Trotsky would have gotten killed in two separate accidents in 1916 or earlier)?

The French would love to be allies of Russia again. In the interbellum they were praying for a sane Russia all the time.

Completely agreed. Also, though, what about Britain?

Britain was facing many problems in Asia, Africa and Europe. She certainly would welcome a powerful, non-threatening ally which would help stabilize European politics.

Couldn't Russia want to restart the Great Game after the end of World War I in this scenario, though?

Good morning Futurist,

Even without the Russian Revolution, the political conflicts and forces were still present in the other shatter-belt.

Russia is still in its Maritime Oblasts, with its new TransSiberian Railroad (and don't forget the TSR spur, Chinese Eastern Railroad, Chita-Vladivostok, involving some Chinese territory.

The U.S. was settling down in its new Philippines.

Japan liked Korea, with additional growing plans.

The UK still appreciated India's mint cigarettes, rubies from the Burma section, and nearby nice restaurants in Hong Kong, BCC, serving healthy food.

The Tonkin Gulf was a French lake.

Somewhat distant, but not much in sailing time, was the gasoline station with its business office in Djakarta. A fuel source is needed if planning to build ships.

About the reference "Great Game", ......the forces were in place........even if Tavarish Lenin moved to London or Cairo to study archaeology.

Warm regards,

Bob

Some say the Great Game wasn't that great or even important for the British.
