In a recent article on U 133, the following image was included mentioning that it comes from the visitor's book of the 7th flottila and that it was signed on 22.10.1941.
Would that crest be the wappen of U 133 at that time?
What abound the horseshoe that is painted at the conning tower? another wappen of the u-boat or maybe the emblem of the graduating class from the U-Boat academy? I have read that this was also painted on the conning tower.

Sorry Ron, but no, the second one is even MORE difficult as it could be any of the 11th Flotilla, as far as I can tell.
Have had no luck finding this emblem, does it look like some kind of bird to you?

Hi Ron
Seen this shield before on the defunct waffe forum, there was a lot of talk concerning that shield. I have always believed 255 had a fox head in an inverted triangle shield.
Hope this helps and defo 11th Flotilla.

Hello

It isn't U 255. This U-Boat is U 601 in 1943 with 11th flotilla.
