Hello,

At this link on e-bay.de, a picture shows some u-boat at lisahally:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/U-BOOT-KRIEG-FOT ... 338d676676

From top to the bottom:

In the center:
U 875 IXd2, U-218 VIId ( minelayer with a special camouflage ),
U 539 IXc40 ( with scnelltauchback B ),
U 170 IXc40 ( with tree life raft cannister at backboard on the forward deck just after the schnelltauchback ) .

At right :
U 1061 VIIf ( maybe four or five life raft cannisters on the after deck ? ),
unknowed VIIc
and maybe U 997 VIIc41 ( i believe cause of the probable camouflage ).

At left : five unknowed VIIc.

Please help me to do a completed list.

Thank you very much in advance.

And please someone have the same picture in better quality ?

Very best regards,

Lionfish.

Hello, thank for your reply.

The U-boats IX with the " schnelltauchback " surrendered at Bergen were :

U 539, U 868, U 875,

But I saw a picture of U 868 towed before being sunk in the operation deadlight. It didn't have the tree life raft canisters forward the coning tower juste after the cuted deck.

And U 170 surendered at Horten. It had also the same canisters but it is difficult to see how many.

Best regards,

Lionfish.

Hi
I believe 25 boats were in Bergen when the foto was taken so you have quite a job to identify them!!

Hello,

An answer to the picture before :

In foreground from right to left we have : U 1109, U 1058, U 278, U 901.
In Background : U 293, U 826, U 1105, U 1022, U 2326.

Only U 1022 came from Bergen.

U 278 came from Narvik, U 901 from Stavanger, and the other from sea directly to Allies.

Best regards,

Lionfish.

Hello Kurfuerst,

Thank you very much for your PM. The problem about the canisters on the foredeck is resolved by your third pic.
My picture doesn't have good quality. I scnned it from the book " Marines & forces navales ". The picture illustrated the page about the Flight 3 composed by : U 298, U 312, U 328, U 481, U 968 and U 868.
U 868 was towed in November 30th but sunk quickly and HMRT Saucy could have just the time to break the cable.

Thank you very much,
