U 352 sunk by the USS Icarus on 9 May 1942 off Cape Hatteras. This incident was one of the few unfortunate events where German sailors were gunned down in the water, as the Icarus continued to fire even as the crew was abandoning ship. 33 were made PoW.

U 953 Net cutters or not

Hi all, I have a big interest in U 953.
My uncle, Hans Harder from Hamburg was a crew member.
I have just received as a present, a model of a V11C boat and in the interests of authenticity I would like to know if U 953 was fitted with net cutters. The model has a hull mounted and a deck mounted cutter but I haven't seen any on the few images of U 953 that I have seen.
Anyone know the answer?
Thanks in advance.
The Duck.
