I was just looking at a news article talking about Lake Vostok http://rt.com/news/vostok-lake-drill-process-703/
Anyways long story short in the article they talk a bit about a potential German base in Antarctica and quote Karl Dönitz as saying to The Führer
“Germany's submarine fleet is proud that it created an unassailable fortress for the Führer on the other end of the world.”
Did he actually say that?
Did Karl Dönitz Actually Say This?

Other "sources" give a different quote:
The reference to Shangri-La makes this statement much more poetic, certainly.
http://www.jerryesmith.com/index.php/60Perhaps Großadmiral Karl Dönitz announced its completion when, in 1943, he said: “The German submarine fleet is proud of having built for the Führer, in another part of the world, a Shangri-La on land, an impregnable fortress.”
The reference to Shangri-La makes this statement much more poetic, certainly.
Re: Did Karl Dönitz Actually Say This?
Despite much research the original item as published anywhere has never been found. The first reference to Hitler was as "Führer and Reich Chancellor", a term obsolete before war broke out and therefore the location had been found in the late 1930s.
