What are the mean of the 2 symbol on their both service caps

HI,
This is a pic which we can find on the internet easily.
What are the mean of the 2 symbols on their both service caps?
The 2 symbols look like different.(2 is more than 1.)
But I do not know who 1 is. Someone says 1 is Otto von Bülow, and someone says 1 is Reinhard Hardegen and 2 is correspondent (Kriegsberichter) Meisinger.
Who is 1 on earth?
And who is 2 on earth?
Thanks.

The last commander of U404-Von Schonberg can be seen near the end of this clip sat at a torpedo training class
alongside the later commander of U281-Von Davidson.
Can you see any more members of U404?
regards MH
