Hello Ron,

On the right is U 205, and on the left is very likely U 568 (I`m not sure). Probably La Spezia, April 1942.

Here`s the photo You asked for.

Hello to all :D; little mistakes..................

U-Flotille en Wilhelmshaven.

Something is wrong with these type VIIA (see below)............The first in the line shows a U boat Type VIIA built in the shipyard DESCHIMAG AG WESER of BREMEN (Series U 27 to U 32).................

Above the ballast tanks, the scuppers to free circulation, run in an unbroken line from bow to behind the sail.

U-Flotille en Wilhelmshaven.

The same picture as above but this time the last in the row is labeled (wrongly) as U 36......

hi guys,

Pictures from EBAY.DE,the seller says this is U 621,as always the seller is wrong.

Flenderwerft,Lübeck.

The white UAK is good visible,a circle and above are two horizontal bars.

I think this is U 316 on her commissioning ceremenony,05-08-1943 LTNT Hermann Stuckmann.

Same boat.

Enjoy this beautiful day.

My best regards,

Ron.

hi Nobby,

This is a very nice picture, thanks for sharing.

I agree U 244, OLt. z.S. Ruprecht Fischer is standing left, front row.

Image

I am also working on this beautiful boat,i don`t know exactly what the U-nr of this boat,
this is what i discovered so far.
Image

U 1301 through U 1308 series.

-U 1301,commissioned 11-02-1944.

-U 1302,commissioned 25-05-1944(possible).

-U 1303,commissioned 05-04-1944(possible).

-U 1304,commissioned 06-09-1944(commissioned as an Alberich boat,not possible).

-U 1305,commissioned 13-09-1944(not possible,different vent pattern).

-U 1306,commissioned 20-12-1944(commissioned as an Alberich boat,not possible).

-U 1307,commissioned 17-11-1944.

-U 1308,commissioned 17-01-1945(commissioned as an Alberich boat,not possible).

I don`t think this is U 1301 or U 1307,in the picture the crew and civilions are not wearing overcoats.

The only two possible candidates are U 1302 and U 1303,I strongly suggest this is U 1303.

What do you think.

my best regards,

Ron.

Hi
Are you sure about Fisher on deck, when commission he would surely be on platform with flag?
Your boat is U 995 Blohm & Voss. See previous forum posts.

hi,

@Nobby,i am sorry i was wrong.I am not sure about Fisher though, looks like him,but you have a point there.

Please take a look at this link,this is the same boat,the U 995 in a U 977 page?????????????
http://www.u-boot-archiv-cuxhaven.de/lang1/u_977.html

@Akerberg,there is book out there called``Die deutschen Kriegsschiffe 1815-1945``band 3 by Erich Gröner.
But this book is not reliable anymore, highly outdated.A few years ago i started to build my own database regarding VII-C vent-patterns.
It pays of now, making the identification more quicker like a few years.

my best regards,

Ron

Thanks Ron !!!!

There are the Type IX vents on the book "Vom Original zum Modell - U-boot Typ IXC" but nothing about Typ VII.
