Hey guys... Back collecting u boat pics after a rather long absence. Had a house fire so been busy. Luckily I didn't lose anything from my collection! Anyway.... Just picked this one up. Early photo by looks of the AA armenentvon that Type IX. The boat in question is getting a lot of attention. I count 9 tonnage flags and a warship flag. Any ideas?

Hi Thomas,

I think U 47 on the left and U 48 on the right. September 1940 at Lorient.

Thanks for the welcome back. Yeah.... I was getting ready to throw my flags and photos out the back door!! Luckily it wasn't necessary.

U 47 and U 48 certainly explain the big crowds. Actually... Now that you have mentioned U 47 I can just barely make out the Bull on the turm. It is in white. Type VII and not a Type IX. Thanks Pikap!
