Never seen this on U 373, always seen stork and a lion! Why was hat adopted??? Not in Hoegal.

Underneath foto is "Auslaufen zur V. Feindfahrt, Durchbruch durch die Straße von Gibraltar. 1. Boot (vorn) U-Förster
Does this mean front boat on foto is commanded by Förster??

No luck with my last image for ID so will try a new one from ebay/de/norway
Norwegian waters 1944 possible May or June
Very good detail of rear of "turm"
