if you check the backside of the third one you can see that it is U 177. Don't slow down!

The middle boat-VIIC is probably not from a large series. I think maybe Lubeck or Flensburg. As the rope cleats between the last section of railings are not in one of the standard three main locations. The rope cleats are mounted on the deck nearest the forward part of the angled railing support just behind the conning tower.
In reference to this section of railings, the early 400 boats had their cleats mounted on the bow side of the vertical bar, the 551series had the cleats on the stern side of this bar and the 251 series had cleats mounted near the stern angled bar.
I have only seen one other boat with the cleats in the forward position and that remains unidentified.

Hi, The top boat is in Wesermünde the crane and white building in the background appear in the picture just posted of U 1197.
