Not as far as I know. Where did you hear of that? Why do you ask? I'm sure you know the spectre of the Bermua Triangle . . .

Neither I.

Alec, you may look at

I am not sure about the boundaries of the triangle, but these maps could help.

Best regards

German u-boats went to the gulf of Mexico to Houston and to the us-east coast,so they also may crossed the bermuda triangle.

Dear Alex

There were 111 U-boat (both German and Italian) patrols to and through the area bounded by Bermuda, Savannah, Key West, and Anegada (roughly a 1-million-square-mile rectangle), which encompassed the Bermuda Triangle (Bermuda - San Juan - Miami). They sank 133 ships of 650,000 GRT between Jan. 1942 and Sept. 1944. More at www.uboatsbahamas.com. Hope this helps.

PS In my opinion the "Bermuda Triangle" is a creative construct drummed up by Charles Berlitz in order to sell books. There are rational explanations for all of the "mysterious" disappearances, though of course the concept has captured the imaginations of millions. I've sailed roughly 40,000 miles in the region and never seen anything unusual except for US Navy / NASA excercises (retreival of space equipment).

Twenty years in the Navy, no issues with triangles, squares, or polygons except the Pentagon. The Bermuda Triangle is a fairy tale.

Has there been any U-Boats that went into the Bermuda Triangle?
....and just reappeared? Maybe its the U 518 carrying Hitler and Eva and their daughter...

Bill Birnes notwithstanding, the various "Triangles" that have been "found" around the planet are, on mundane analysis, simply parts of the ocean.

Dear AT6,
Do you mean traveled the alleged area or were lost due to "mysterious" circumstances? Went there? H*ll yes. Lost due to "mysterious" circumstances? At the risk of sounding British(No offense intended, it just is not an American Turn of Phrase) Not Bloody Likely!

I don't know. I suspect there were a few lost due to "mysterious" circumstances. If the one that sunk due to improper flushing of the toilet had been in the triangle I doubt anyone would have known or even suspect how it was lost. Likewise if the type XXI that the US was testing after the war had had it's battery explosion in deep water in the triangle it's loss would have been mysterious as well. Especially late war when both the men and the boats were getting worn out odd incidents could happen and lead to the loss of a boat for unknown (i.e. "mysterious") reasons.

Dear LWD,
I agree the losses you describe are unusual, but not "mysterious". It is the situation of investigating to find a flesh and blood reason for a loss rather than "the aliens/monsters/or vortex" got them.

P.S. The "aliens/monsters/vortex would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for us "meddling kids".
