Sturm78,

I am not sure if we can tell from the mounting that the barrel was the original barrel of the Mle 1897 i.e. a 75 CA 97/39 and not a Mle 1928 barrel i.e. a 75 CA 28/39. :?

However, Jos posted the picture below in the thread on 09 April 2008
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=125684

It shows the same platform but with a retracted Mle 1928 barrel. In addition to the barrel, a difference is the big spring in front. So, maybe this spring was added only with the Mle 1928 barrel.

Well, I'm sure that the longer barrel needed either a counterweight or an equilibrating mechanism. French engineers chose second variant, so all 75 CA 28/39 should have such springs.
With best regards, Ilya.

Hi Sturm78,

Yes, it is a 75 mm CA Mle 1930 aka 7,5 cm Flak M30(f) by the Germans in this case.

Sturm78,

In the ATF40 thread where the picture is posted (http://atf40.forumculture.net/t1984-le- ... -invalides), Stéphane Ferrard explains that it could be one of the 22 x 25 mm CAJ ordered by the USSR, placed under embargo by France [in 1939] and then transferred to French AA defense units before the 25 mm CAJ Mle 40 became available.
