Can anyone give me an explanation of why the central figure, Ahmed Ben Bella of the 141 RIA is wearing a light coloured tunic? I assume this photo is taken either before the Fall of France or in the immediate period after. At the time he was a Sergent. The other subjects in the photo are unidentified but from their uniforms I am assuming they are also of the 141 RIA.
