More precisly the 4 RTS - Regiment Tiralleus Senegalaises in South France in June 1940.

In what were the difference against an Infantry Nord Est Regiment?

apart the fact that the last come mainly from Western Europe and the other from Western Africa I assume
both Senegalese Tirailleurs Regiments of the 2e DIC were organised on a type mountain
some slight differences but two appear more significatives, a total of 318 men more (3408 vs 3090), but above all, like in the Alpine units, much more "animalized" with pack mules instead of horse-drawn wagons

French Alpine units had two types : mountain regiment and Demibrigade Chasseur Alpine. Apart from pack mules, they had ski units so their size of battalion was larger than NE infantry regiment. Chasseur Alpine had 1,073 men while infantry battalion had 867 men.

I am aware of SES but as far as i know they don't appear in colonial units.

The increase in men could be animal handlers?

No, of course no SES Skiers-Scouts Sections in these regiments, imagine our poors Senegalese recruits from tropical Africa in such specialized Alpine units when even in wartime France in 1915-1918, 1939-1940, 1944-1945 Senegalese battalions were usually withdrawn from the front in the north or east when the winter approached to be sent to the southern confines of the country in the Mediterreanean coast or near Spain, the wintering ending in april

I didn't find detailed info about each function inside the regiment for the RTS but maybe the differences are proportionate to the number of pack mules as you wrote
e.g. Compagnie Hors Rang type North-East 175 men for 58 horses and 27 wagons
For the RTS as having only 3 horses without wagons, less men, 154

for the whole Battalion type North-East 867 men 65 horses 48 wagons
in the RTS Battalion more than the double in animals 154 horses without wagons (so pack mules I assume) and more men, 970
