Bol, I do not understand your connection between coming from the south and not being well-educated. Some southeners reading this could be offended. He was not from the south, being born in California. Furthermore he attended Classical School for Boys, in Pasadena CA, spent 1 year at VMI, and then 4 years at USMA, graduating in 1909. This puts a lie to your comment about not being well-educated. Aside from these 2 erroneous comments, you are 100% correct.

Yes he was - and previously spent a year at the VMI Tho' he had to repeat his first year at The Point due to poor mathematics apparently; he graduated therefore in 1909, not 1908...but as "Cadet Adjutant", 2nd in class year Bit hard to achieve that if he was -

I've read in a few biographies of Patton, that he blamed General Bedell Smith for influencing Eisenhower's decision to dismiss him from the Third Army. There was some long standing personal animosity and ego between the two. He refused to allow Smith to visit him in hospital.

shows that his mother was born in California as were both his grandmothers.

It would help you if you could give us some checkable facts or sources to back up your affirmation that he was both anti-semitic and poorly educated.

It seems on the latter that the weight of history is against you but if you have other sources/information to the contrary then please post it. The fact that he used expletives or cussed frequently is a hardly a sign of being poorly educated.

Besides graduating from West Point, Patton attended the Army Command and General Staff School at Fort Leavenworth. He also attended the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks. An example of his scholarly work can be seen at the link shown below.

Looking at this paper I conclude that it is equivalent to a master's thesis.

I believe he was very well read.

I don't know if Patton was anti-semitic. He may have been anti-Irish and anti-Catholic, too. Is a good general required to love everybody in the world? What acts of his displayed blatant and HARMFUL anti-semitism?

The fact that Patton may have been anti-semitic is hardly earth shattering if its true. A large proportion of the popn in the UK and the US were, but that doesnt equate to the genocidal tendancies shown by the German Gov, which how now some people tend to view anyone with such beliefs.

Indeed he might also have met at least some defintions of racist. Apparently he was reluctant to take black units at first. On the otherhand after he saw how well they performed he requested more of them I believe. This points such prejudices not being esprecially strong.

These comments are all good rebuttals to bolchevuks statements. Plus , let us not forget. that Jews were seldom seen in the South, being more common in large cities, especially New York. A southerner could go a lifetime and not see a Jewish individual.
