Read after the BoB that infantry replacment shortages led to integrated blacks in infantry rifel company platoons. Anyone know how many and which units? Is there a study out there on this subject?

One source woulkd be the big "green book" US Army history, the volume "The Employment of Negro Troops" would make a good start.
