Periodically, SFOR here in Bosnia goes on weapons and ammo collections and searches. We have a mandate to collect these things to help pacify the Country. Most are melted down under SFOR supervision but a select few are rendered inert and go to Military Museums. You'd be amazed what can turn up. Mostly modern weapons and various copies thereof but occasionally we get the odd "Oldie". I asked the NCO who stores these weapons, until enough are collected to warrant a trip to the smelting furnace, if I could see what he had and found this .45 Thompson. It's clearly marked on the left and right sides and has the serial #6925. It too will be melted down soon.
Any thoughts?
