This website:

http://www.eretzisraelforever.net/Timel ... syear=1941

says that the 23 Palestinian commandoes went north to Tripoli,Syria(now Lebanon). It lists a number of sources, but not the specific source for this event.Their mission was to blow up the refineries there.Events surrounding the HMS SeaLion are classified by the British.

OK,I am told that this was not the submarine HMS SeaLion, but the HMS Sea Lion,a smaller surface ship, sunk by the French May 18,1941.My search did not come up with anything, could someone point to a source I could search?Bry.

There is no surface ship the Sea Lion,Sealion or similar..Just a ruse to cover the failure of the operation.
