I am confused?

It would appear to me, that the Queens Westminster Regiment. & The Finsbury Rifles both carried the same title of 11 K.R.R.C.

Can someone enlighten me?

Plus I am looking for movements of the Queens Westminster Regiment; 1940 - 1942 Please.

From what I can find out:

In 1881 the Queens Westminster Regiment became the 6th Bn KRRC.

In 1891 the Queens Westminster Regiment became the 13th Middlesex (Queen's) Volunteer Rifle Corps (Westminster), between 1908 and 19221 it was the 16th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Queen's Westminster Rifles).

In 1921 it amalgamated with 15th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own, Civil Service Rifles), to form 16th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Queen's Westminster and Civil Service Rifles)

Wikipeadia statesz it was transfered to the KRRC in 1937 but I can't find that.

In 1883 the The Finsbury Rifles bacame the [7th] volunteer battalion of The King's Royal Rifle Corps.

1891. 21st Middlesex (Finsbury) Volunteer Rifle Corps

1908. 11th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Finsbury Rifles)

1915. 1/11th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Finsbury Rifles)
renumbered on formation of 2/11th Battalion

1916. transferred to the corps of The King's Royal Rifle Corps as the 11 Bn

1920. 11th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Finsbury Rifles)

1922 11th London Regiment (Finsbury Rifles)

1935. 61st (Finsbury Rifles) Anti-Aircraft Brigade, RA

1938. 61st (Middlesex) Anti-Aircraft Brigade, RA, 224 LAA Bty separated to form 12 (Finsbury Rifles) LAA Regt

1939. 61st (Middlesex) Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RA

1940. 61st (Middlesex) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RA

1947 461st (Middlesex) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RA
reconstituted in T.A. with HQ at Finchley

1955. disbanded

Hope this helps :)

Finding some more

1922 16th London Regiment (Queen's Westminster and Civil Service Rifles)

1937. The Queen's Westminsters, The King's Royal Rifle Corps

1939. 1st Battalion, The Queen's Westminsters, The King's Royal Rifle Corps redesignated on formation of duplicate 2nd Battalion

1940 converted to motor battalion

1941. 11th (Queen's Westminsters) Battalion, The King's Royal Rifle Corps

1947. The Queen's Westminsters, The King's Royal Rifle Corps reconstituted in T.A. with HQ at Westminster

1961.05.01 amalgamated with Queen Victoria's Rifles, to form Queen's Royal Rifles

Guess it was also a '11 Bn KRRC" but at a different time.
