Western Command 1942-1948

I about to do some research in the National Archives on Italian and German POW camps in Western Command.

To cut down my load, has anyone any knowledge which Pioneer Corps units served in Cheshire and Shropshire in the period 1942-1948 and may have been given POW guard duties?
