You may be interested in a collaborative article I have written concerning the fall of Tobruk 1942 from the perspective of the Allied participants and the Press. It highlights the growing despair and general disgruntled attitude of the soldiers and the press with the perceived inept generalship of the Allied desert commanders. I look forward to criticism and viewpoints.

Hi David,

I look forward to continuing to read it, thanks for posting it here.

I'm not sure if it's right to say 2 S.A. Division had seen 'little' action. It had besieged and taken Bardia/Halfaya in December and January 1941/42, and that was at least a proper operation.
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41
