Does anyone know of any comparison flight tests held between the D.H. Hornet and contemporary WWII fighters?
Am especially interested in how it may have performed against the Lockheed P-38 Lightning.

I have read that Eric "Winkle" Brown rated it very highly.

It was tested against the Spitfire XIV, Mustang III and Meteor III.

Overall, its low rates of both turn and roll put it at a serious disadvantage against the other fighters.
