Does anyone know what units made up the British 2d Armoured Brigade around VE day? I'm specifically looking for what motorized infantry regiment belonged to the brigade.

Dear Sir,
Here is the typical organization of the 2nd Armored Brigade in 1941:

2nd Armored Brigade HHC
66th Armored Regiment (Light)
67th Armored Regiment (Medium)
68th Armored Regiment (Light)
14th Field Artillery Regiment (Armored)
82nd Reconnaissance Battalion (Armored)
78th Field Artillery Battalion (Armored)
41st Infantry (Armored)
Headquarters
Headquarters Company, 2nd Armored Division
17th Engineer Battalion (Armored)
48th Medical Battalion (Armored)
14th Quartermaster Battalion (Armored)
142nd Signal Company (Armored)
16th Observation Squadron (attached)
17th Ordnance Battalion (Armored)

The 2nd Armored Brigade was activated on 15 July 1940 at Fort Benning, Georgia and assigned to 2nd Armored Division. It moved to Panama City, Florida on 13 December 1940 and returned to Fort Benning, Georgia on 17 December 1940. It arrived in Grand Cane, Louisiana on 12 August 1941 and returned to Fort Benning, Georgia on 29 September 1941. It then transfered to the Fort Jackson, South Carolina area on 2 November 1941 and arrived back at Fort Benning, Georgia on 1 December 1941. It was disbanded at Fort Benning, Georgia in January, 1942.

The above information was compiled from: Order Of Battle - U.S. Army World War II by retired U.S. Army Special Forces Captain Shelby L. Stanton.

May God Bless-Major Robert A. Lynn, USMCR

I meant British 2d Armoured Brigade. I apologize, I'll re-edit my post.

1st British Armoured Division was disbanded in all but name by VE Day due to lack of replacements and consisted of only the divisional headquarters and some divisional troops. As of 10 April 1945 2nd Armoured Brigade was attached to 78th British Infantry Division. It consisted of the Bays, 9th Lancers and 10th Hussars, equipped with 28 Sherman IB, 36 IC, 96 IIA, 5 V, 3 V-dozer, and 9 Sherman fascine. I'm unsure if the brigade retained a motor battalion, but can check.

According to the Official OoB series for the British Army in WW2, the 2nd Armd Brigade was attached to the 78th Inf Div between March 6th & May 4th 1945, before moving to 8th Army control on May 5th 1945.
