British 2 pounder AT gun
British 2 pounder AT gun
How much time was necessary to bring the 2 pounder gun in firing position from towing setting?
Thanks

I can't answer your question directly. So please forgive me for going off at a tangent.
In N Africa the 2 pounder was on a "portee" Which was a customised lorry bed. The gun could be dismounted by using ramps that were carried on the side of the lorry, or it could be fired directly from the lorry bed. (Like so many of the Italian guns). The former was better because the lorry bed was not the ideal gun platform, as the gun could hardly be traversed whilst on the lorry. The latter was more convenient for a quick engagement, followed by a speedy "tactical withdrawal".
Thanks for indulging me! Dave.

Thanks for yours responses!
In my sources I have found several type of truck used as portee for 2 pdr gun:
Morris-Commercial CS8
Chevrolet Indian Pattern
CMP Ford and Chevrolet
In my sources the gun could not be fired only from the Morris Commercial
But I have several doubts on the use of this portee in North Africa because i have not see a pic of this portee in North Africa. I have found only a pics of a Morris Commercial assigned to an Indian Division without the gun on the rear.
Have you any information about?
Best regards
Attilio
