Czech Arms Sales to China 1932-1939
Is anyone able to recap Czech Arm sales to China. The recent posting regarding the TATARA VEHICLES is what prompted this inquiry. I am sure I posted a similar request years ago---just hoping someone has recovered something. Am also always interested in how the arms were delivered. By sea of course, but what ships and dates, places of departure. Thank you for your efforts.

Hello
Apparently no guns were delivered in interwar years (although China was importer of Skoda guns before ww1)
Some info of weapons delivery in interwar years:
20.000 Rifle Mauser M.98 --- around 1924 and 1927 (old stored weapons)
40.000 Rifle vz. 24 --- in 1928 delivered by czechoslovak ship Praga to some chinese warlord and was unsuccesfully intercepted by warships of south China government
30.000 Rifle vz. 24 plus 500 Machinegun vz. 26 --- second delivery in 1928 to chinese warlord now with norwegian ship Bestum
1.000 Machinegun vz. 26 --- for China central government delivered in 1929 by german ship (further delivery cancelled due to China central government not paying its bills)
10.250 Rifle vz. 24 plus 360 Pistol vz. 24 --- in 1930 for government in Mukden
unknown deliveries mentioned including Machineguns vz. 35 --- no info available
20.000 Rifle vz. 24 plus 2.500 Machinegun vz. 26 plus 150 Machinegun vz. 37 --- in March 1939
100 Machinegun vz. 37 --- in April 1939 - reported as last shipment (further shipments blocked by Germans)

Many thanks Pavel--I apologize for the delay in responding. I'll due some further checking on the Praga and Betsum and see what I find. I think I found that twenty (20) of the Tatara vehicles were ordered. Any idea how shipped? I assume to Hong Kong. Again thank you.

Thanks Pavel for your effort, also for not letting me get away with Tatara for Tatra. Didn't find anything readily for either Norwegian Bestum and suspect there are multiple spellings for Praga. In re Praga, somewhere on this earth there is someone who knows the history of the early flagged ships of the then new nation. Again Pavel, many thanks. Post 1937 orders from China are fascinating.
