Spanish & Portuguese Order of Battle 1939

Could anyone enlighten me about the size and deployment of the Spanish and Portuguese armies at the outbreak of WWII (in terms of number of divisions)? I was under the impression that Franco maintained around 30-40 divisions, and would be seriously surprised if Portugal could have managed more than 10.

After the Civil War, the Spanish Army was quickly reduced in size from around 60 divisions to 20. Spain was to be divided in 8 military regions, each with an army corps with 2 infantry divisions. Spanish Morocco had 2 army corps with 2 infantry divisions each. There was also a cavalry division.
Later the I, II and IV military regions strength was increased to 3 infantry divisions each. Also the IX Army Corps (in Morocco) was increased to 3 infantry divisions.
In 1940, 2 new infantry divisions were created to reinforce Spanish Morocco.

The Portuguese are detailed on Dr. Leo Niehorster's website

http://www.orbat.com/site/ww2/drleo/049 ... tugal.html

The site also has the Spanish at different times during the war, including June 6, 1944

Cheers

A Portuguese Army Orbat here :
http://www.forumdefesa.com/forum/viewto ... 2&start=16
but unfortunately for the end of World War II.
There were 32 594 Portugueses soldiers in 1939 but the Army reaches 116 000 men in 1942,
enough to sent 26 500 in the Açores, 3940 to Madeira, 6690 in Cabo Verde and 19 170 to others overseas territories

A very late reply but this came up in another thread so I thought I'd post it here:
Off of http://niehorster.orbat.com/000_admin/000oob.htm there are OBs for both Spain and Portugal.
Specifically http://niehorster.orbat.com/080_spain/__spain.html for Spain and http://niehorster.orbat.com/049_portuga ... tugal.html for Portugal.

Very late indeed, as that had been already posted here by Bessar in 2007...

The Spanish one hasn't and the url has changed. Just checked and I got a 404 Not Found message when I tried the old one. On the other hand a second attempt got to it without any problem. Not sure what's going on with that.

Indeed it worked fine for me the second time I tried it. Don't understand what's going on with that. Oh well.
Those sites are fairly generic I don't suppose anyone has any sites with more details of specfic units?
