Hi, it is curious I never find out any Division commanders of Dutch Army in war of 1940. Occasionally I find two or three Corps commanders, but not complete. Anyone have detailed list on Dutch Corps and Divisional commanders in war of 1940 ? Thank

Hi, Prosper,

Thank so much for your website, very helpful. I found that many Dutch Divison commanders were only Colonel , not general.

Apart from nine divisions, Dutch army had many independent brigades and regiments, seemed very powerful.

But this website had not division commander data in III and IV Corps.

And so called Peel Division, was it official unit or non regular unit ? Thank

Hello Kelvin,
About the "Peeldivisie" I did'nt have information, only this website and sorry it's also in dutch language.
http://www.zuidfront-holland1940.nl/ind ... eeldivisie
All what i can say about this unit, it was not an division in reality but wase à melting pot of several units who had to defend the "Peelstelling". (The defence aera in southern Holland named as the river witht the name "Peel"
I hope you will understand the meaning because my english knowledge is very poor.
Kindly regards
Prosper

Hi, Prosper, thank so much for your link and explanation. Before this I would think " Peel" is name of commander, right now I know it is area name, perhaps something like military zone garrison. Thank again. :D
