Paying well for quality captured Japanese WWII flags.

Post by DoubleEnvelopment » 22 Aug 2014, 19:19

Hello Everyone, I am in the market for captured WWII Japanese flags from the Pacific Theater of WWII. I am especially after flags with some kind of traceable history, in either intelligence stamps, documentation, photographs, letters, Certificate of authenticity, intelligence stamps etc.

I am looking for flags with specific connections to these locations:
Guadalcanal
Tarawa
Peleliu
Roi & Namur
Kwajalein
Saipan
Aleutians.

I can pay very well for unique flags and I prefer to pay via paypal.

Thanks
-Matt

Good luck on this search!! C.o A. are worthless POS, as anyone can invent their own.
As for conections to Islands, most I have seen posted on www sites/other forums/ are based on the word of the dealer or seller/shiller(forum postings)

Somewhere on this site in my archived postings are many pics of my Japanese flags from several years ago. Most all I have researched now and learned are BS fakes.

Take these 3 small ones of mine. Would you believe me if I stated that the 3 were captured on Iwo, or Okinawa?
Over on 2 other big militaria forums there have been numerous postings the past year of *captured* Japanese flags on Iwo, and Okinawa, :x :x :x if I had a dollar for every flag being posted the past year, I would have a thousand $$$$$$$.LIke evry Japanese soldat had a flag!!! Jezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

OK, well I've been at this a while. This is not the first flag I've bought, not even close, the point of the post is I am looking for quality items. Sorry you had some bad luck.

I understand your POV, quality is the only way. Way to easy to scam-fake a flag now-a-days.LIke these guys/dealers/cons/ taking a plain old NSDAP banner, a pencil, an old field roster with names/rank/back home info and making a *captured* G.I. endorsed captured flag.

I have had *vet bring backs* with a so called picture, and the pic from WW2 island and the flag in hand does not match up!But the guy will swear it is the same flag

Where the Japanese fakers make mistakes are in the new style kanji, the nonsense *sayings, etc* they over kill, wrong writing material, (the felt pen/regular ink/fading and seepage like with a couple over on GDF.

A fool and his money are easily parted but Yeah, I can tell the difference between a fake and legit flag. Also I don't collect the starburst pattern flags either. Here's one I got where the family member wrote a COA, which was notorized, signed and has his phone number and other personal details. It came from Mindoro, I am positive he wasn't lying about it. I talk to him from time to time still to see if he can update me on any info about his Uncle, who captured it.
