Re: ► Soft Skinned Vehicles
A very rare pairing here: A 1938 Oldsmobile cabrio and a MAN Type M 1 semi-trailer.
Pumping up that tire with a bicycle pump may take a little while.

Those pumps were common in "the good old days", for vehicles not for bicycles.Maxschnauzer wrote:A very rare pairing here: A 1938 Oldsmobile cabrio and a MAN Type M 1 semi-trailer.

I realize that J-P, but as I said it still takes some time and effort. I know. I've had a go at it back in the day.John Hilly wrote:Those pumps were common in "the good old days", for vehicles not for bicycles.Maxschnauzer wrote:A very rare pairing here: A 1938 Oldsmobile cabrio and a MAN Type M 1 semi-trailer.

Hi Sturm 78,
thank You very much for posting this very good and interesting pic. I was looking for this truck in the book "Die Österreichischen Saurer-Werke" by Johann Kopacs and I found two pics, one of the type 4BTDv-S and a type C, which looks like the truck on Your pic. But there is only the information built from 1936 - 1938.
Best regards
Bert

Re: ► Soft Skinned Vehicles
Hi Bert and Sturm,
Hard to tell. The Saurer 4 BTDv S & 5 BTDv S shown by Holger also has three long vent flaps and to me looks a lot like Sturm's pic also.

Re: ► Soft Skinned Vehicles
Hi Sturm,
It could be a rebodied chassis by coachbuilder Fleischer. Bill Murray posted about these some time ago. I can't locate it now but here is another link:http://www.coachbuild.com/forum/viewtop ... 90&t=11039.
