Isn't it an ex-civilian ambulance? I haven't seen a pre war car with a steel wagon/estate body. Also the windows look painted like on ambulance.peeved wrote:some estate car from exp. eBay.de.

Maybe some MB 170V?
Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Don't rightly know. In most period German ambulance bodies I've seen there's no left rear door as there appears to be here, just one on the right. Additionally judging by what looks like a door handle, the rear door seems to be of the suicide type which I believe wasn't normal practise in German 1930's ambulances.Jose85 wrote:Isn't it an ex-civilian ambulance? If it's a MB I'd bet on something a bit bigger like 230.Jose85 wrote:Maybe some MB 170V?

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Sturm:
On your last two, I believe the first photo is some sort of Albion, based on the radiator mask logo.
I am not sure which model but it looks to be about a 5 tonner.
Cheers
Bill

The Albion is possibly a KL127. On Holger's site he has photos of two with different cabs, but in Bart Vanderveen's Fighting Vehicles Directory he has a photo of one with the same cab as in the photo. With the variety of cabs I would suggest these were requisitioned civilian vehicles that were then captured in France.

There are quite a few civie KL127s on this site http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p428172639

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Sturm/Clive:
I think Clive has the proper ID. I was a bit concerned about the wheelbase length, but if we assume it was an impressed civilian vehicle as Clive suggests, it could have had a different wheelbase.
Cheers
