Once the forms were full and the curved top sections of the outer walls were in place, I filled the inner void with water in order to keep the whole thing moist (if it drys out to quick the cement doesn't fully cure. I left it for 4 days, I gradually and carefully removed some of the outer forms to see if there were any voids or air pockets, which there were a few. However these are easily filled with mortar and finished off with a modelling knife.

Hi All

First of all thanks for all the compliments. It has taken a lot longer than I thought but Im quite happy with the results though I did learn a lot and would do it differently next time. Ive tidied up the main structure, filling in all the little voids and overspills.(The doors did suffer from the fine slurry working through the slight cracks in the forms whilst vibrating the mortar. The next main task will be making the roof, followed by making the base/foundation. The next picture is the photo that inspired this model. The bunker is in a field in (France I think) During the war it would have had earth up against it and comoflague netting. It seems many farmers stripped away the earth from the bunkers after the war to get some extra foot print for crops or grazing,

This is my model in the garden (note it is the opposite hand to the real one, which I only noticed when I started the formwork. The reason being that the plan I found was the opposite hand so I went with that version.
