Red paint color for Imperial and NS nat'l flag?

Can anyone recommend a specific model paint (brand and color) for the red of the imperial flag and the NS national flag as seen here, for use on a model of LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin?

(I searched the board but could not find a post; if I missed one please accept my apologies for posting the question.)

I would believe that it would be the standard red: RLM 23/RAL 3020

I already tried Tamiya XF-7, which I found on a chart as equal to RLM 23 (http://www.finescale.com/~/media/Files/ ... /RLMv2.pdf), but it did not look right so I thought I would post the question here. Perhaps I should try the Testors or Vallejo versions. Has anyone used a specific brand/color that seems like a good match for RLM 23?

As a past modeller I can say getting a perfect colour is pointless as sun bleaching, variation in hue from the historical paint manufacturers and other variables needs to be considered.

Get it as close as you can and move on. The same goes for uniforms and camouflage. Variation is essential for design.

One thing that can also be done is try mixing to get the desired shade
