Models from movies.

Hello

Seeing this picture the other day, I came to think about all the models made to be used in filming war movies, are they saved and in any exhibition any where?

This picture is from the movie "Tora - Tora - Tora" about the japaneese attack on Pearl Harbour, but many other moovies come to mind where models have been used.

Any one know?

Regards
Kurt

Interesting topic. Here is one of the models used in the filming of one of my favorite Cold War themed movies, K-19: The Widowmaker which was sold at auction in the UK.http://www.propstore.com/product/k19-th ... submarine/

In the Battle of Britain (1969 - Michael Caine etc.) radio-controlled flying models were used in most of the combat sequences (for example all Stukas were models). I have a DVD on that movie and in its extra features there was one focusing on the planes and models used in the movie. They had also some real planes like authentic Spitfires and He 111. The DVD of Battle of Britain with extra features is recommended as it gives lots of interesting info about this movie and its background.
