I put this post in response to an invitation from Marcus
Model debut after a very long break. Polikarpov I-16 Type 24 Engine: Shestov M-63 1000km very close to ASh-62 from the popular An-2 aircraft. Maximum speed of 462km / h. Armament: 2 x 20mm cannon and 2 x 7.62mm machine gun. Pilot: Boris Sofonov Hero of the Soviet Union, the commander of 78 Fighter Regiment and 2 Guards Fighter Regiment. Die a hero's death in the Barents Sea in defense of convoy PQ-16. Shot down 30 German planes. About the model: modified seat and belts, sight, gun camera, barrels and pitot tube made of medical needles, added the rear position light, venturi tube made from scratch. Model painted Gunze Surfacer and paints.
