I´m considering to make a 1/48 Polikarpov I-16 type 10 as a Chinese version. Looking from the web for good decal alternative I came along with Bestfong - see: http://www.bestfong.com/decal/bestfong-decals-1930-1950
Their decals should be OK reading the few reviews which I have of their products. Has anyone experience of dual layer decals which they make?
A more detailed question about the I-16 type 10 decals - they give it as number 2409 of "4th Squadron", but no time reference is given. As I like to know some background story for each model that I make (timeframe, unit, possible pilots), I wonder where to look more info on Chinese Air Force I-16 type 10 n:o 2409. And also to check if the Bestfong has it really right.
Bestfong decals and Chinese Polikarpov I-16?
Re: Bestfong decals and Chinese Polikarpov I-16?
Seems that the plane used to be thought to be type 18 (as marked on the following site) with a comment o two sources (french and russian) claiming that it was most probably type 10. Also note the difference in camouflage on most colour profiles plane is depicted with black engine cowling.

Polikarpov I-16 type 10 Serial: 2409 21st chungtui, IV tatui
One of the six I-16 from 24th Chungtui, IVth Tatui, who took part to the first fighting versus the Zeroes from the Yokoyama unit, near Chungking on 13 September 1940. Two pilots from the 24th were killed, amongst whom Yang Meng-ch'ing, the commander, a third being heavily wounded... These planes were more probably Types 10 rather than Types 18, our documentation not allowing us to know for sure.

Thanks for info. The little that I have read about this (from the series of articles of Anatoli Demiin) suggests that only types 5 (both closed and open canopy version) and type 10 of I-16 were delivered to China.
