Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu by Tamiya

Hi everybody.

I fully apprecioate that this might be quite tricky as the original was something of a rare beast, but having a soft spot for aircrafts of IJN during WW2, I have pruchased an example of this kit. I want to finish it in the correct colours and markings of one of the aircracfts stationed at Balikpapan, but I do not trust the instructions in the kit (somewhat vague) and have been unable so far to find any information on the decals provided with the kit, namely No. 103 "Ohtsu" Kokutai, No. 132 "Sasebo" Kokutai & No. 135 "Sasebo" Kokutai.

I fully appreciate, that this might be a difficult nut to krack, but hope that someone can shed some light on this subject. Remember: Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost.

Wishing You all well. 8O

You might want to try http://www.j-aircraft.org/smf/index.php and the folks at J-aircraft as they specialize in this. Jim Lansdale has some excellent research on IJN colors and markings.
