I´m in a process of building La-5 FN but I´m little puzzled of the antenna wiring. There seems to be two variations:
Variation A: http://img.wp.scn.ru/camms/ar/336/pics/1_69.jpg
Variation B: http://www.internetmodeler.com/2003/aug ... /la5-3.jpg
Here also antenna wiring differences between La 5 F and La 5 FN which I found from the web: http://www.wunderwaffe.narod.ru/Magazin ... raw/07.jpg
I wonder which would be more correct to be used with La-5 FN flown by capt. Litokhelov of 159 IAP in summer of 1944. My Zvezda kit instructions advice to make variation B, but I´m not sure if that is correct (I have currently no photos available of his plane).
The antenna wiring of La-5 FN?
Re: The antenna wiring of La-5 FN?
You should put the Variant B for a late version of La-5 FN.

Re: The antenna wiring of La-5 FN?
Yes, it seems to be so in most photos and sources.
However, very recently I came up with the book Red Stars in the Sky, Soviet Air Force in World War Two (Geust et al 1993) and it has a photo of catp. Likholetov´s (159) La-5 FN showing it with variant A. The plane seems to be by other visible features to be indeed a La 5 FN and not La 5 F. I guess that the antenna wiring of La 5 FN depended on production series - the earlier had the Variant A (like La 5 F) and later FN-series (as well as La-7) had Variant B.
But thanks anyway.

Re: The antenna wiring of La-5 FN?
Thanks for hint although I have already built the La 5 FN ready.
My following "Soviet project" could be Yak 9 - but the appropriate model and decals are yet to be found, I´m not hurry with it. I would like to make Yak-9 of Normandie-Niemen, but what is usually on offer of theme is Yak-3. However I consider Yak 9 historically more interesting.
