When i was a kid i was a big fan of the Me262 i had o couple of those babies.
And when New year celebrations were over i always made sure i had some baby rockets left over.
I stuck them intoo the two jet engines and go outside to a smooth bicycle road and made a few of them fly.
It was awesome to see them lift off, first they started slow as the rockets got up to thier full power then speed up and eventually get airborn for a few seconds.
Some of them made very impressive explosions mid air spinned intoo the ground because one rocket was still opperating then exploding the second engine on impact or still on it's way toward the ground.

Oh, I never destroyed my models. I assembled, painted and played with them, but never did I destroy them. But I took advantage of the destructive work by vandals like the rest of the guys in this forum, and collected the bits and pieces of models that could be found right after the fire-cracker seasons. I put them back together and used the wrecks in my play. Thanks! :D

When I was younger I made planes, but when I grew a bit older I didnt liked the planes anymore! So what to do whit them? :? CRASH THEM, I have crushed them all, right into the trashcan :D ! Now Im building Panzers, and I will NEVER trash these nice Panzers(I love panzers)! :D My first Panzer Models (like a panzer 4 and a M24), where not painted ec, so after a while I didnt liked it anymore, and I dicited to make them Battlefield Wrecks, Ive painted it in wreck colours, and drilled some nice granade impacts in it! Now Im happy whit them :D !

I destroy my models by...
A) Building them
B) Over Gluing and not following directions perfectly.
or C) being careless with my butterfingers

I should try the bbgun idea...I have a shotgun and a paintball gun so maybe they will work well for the job...haha

Fritz

I once had a 1/72 Konigstiger that a friend and I shot to pieces with an air rifle, but I was surprised that the front armour withstood many close range direct hits, before bits started to fly off!

Firecrackers, M 80's and cherry bombs.-most recovered pieces were unusable.
Gasoline and black powder were fun too.
Venerable Daisy Pumpgun would effectively penetrate the armour of any known model of the time.
This was early 60's.
I also shot up a couple german helmets that cost about 5 bucks those days. Takes several hits from a .22LR to penetrate one but a 30/06 zips right through.
A M-80 will blow one about four feet off the ground but tears the liner up pretty bad.
