I'm reading Germania by Simon Winder. I find it very instructive and fun to read. I was hesitant to buy it, because I heard Winder's tendency to be humourous spoiled the narrative and that the book is too silly. I think it's refreshing to brush up on my non- 1914-1945 German history and i like the book!

I'm readin "Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex" by Stefan Aust, about the communist terrorists in the Germany of the 1970's. Very hard to put down.

The best books about the BRD that I've read so fare are
- Michael Seufert: Der Skandal um die Hitler-Tagebücher.
- simon reeve: Ein Tag im September. Die Geschichte des Geiseldramas bei den Olympischen Sommerspielen in München 1972 („One day in September“)
- Stefan Aust: Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex
(edit= BRD is Bundesrepublik Deutschland, or West-Germany)

The second Volume of Gregor Schöllgen's "German foreign policy": 1945 - present (2013)

I've only started, but it's interesting and easy to read

Crowley's Contantinople the last great siege, a good account on the many attempt to conquest Constantinople until it really happened in 1453

Just read Crowley's Empires if the Sea. Excellent read. Can't question the veracity of the information, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Currently reading this Vietnam War book-

The Magnificent Bastards: The Joint Army-Marine Defense of Dong Ha, 1968 by Keith Nolan.

Its a blow by blow account of the battle packed with eyewitness accounts.

Empire of Fear: Inside the Islamic State by Andrew Hosken.

It's a good book and describes well the rise of ISIS.

Currently reading this book-

The Wrong Enemy: America in Afghanistan, 2001-2014 by Carlotta Gall.

It's a interesting read regarding the relationship of Pakistan's role in the War in Afghanistan.
